Set Goals with a Family Vision Board

Spending quality time with your children is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Learning their hopes and dreams brings joy that is beyond measure. Creating a family vision board is an opportunity to do just that.

A vision board is any sort of board on which you display images or words that represent your goals and/or dreams. When prominently displayed in your home, a vision board helps to remind you of what you wish to accomplish and pushes you to go after your dreams. A family vision board brings all the members of your family together to share their goals for themselves and the family.

Creating a board is easy and most importantly builds a strong bond in your family. Start by choosing your poster board so that you have a solid foundation for your images. Then comes the fun part. Think of some questions to ask your family that will get them to open up about what they want to do, see and accomplish in their lives. A few examples include:

• What are some of the activities that make you happy?
• What do you think your dream job would be?
• Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
• Who are the people in your life that make you happy?

The best part is there are no right or wrong answers. You’ll find that once your kids start opening up, it will be hard to stop them.
